Mary Harney - No interference in mother's treatment

The Tánaiste and Minister for Health, Mary Harney, has said she regrets very much that her mother, who is ill, has been dragged into a political debate.

She said she resented a story in yesterday's Ireland on Sunday that claimed her mother had 'jumped the queue' for treatment.

An emotional Ms Harney said there was no interference with clinical decisions by any member of her family, including herself.
