More than 300 people were killed by the tsunami that struck the south coast of Java yesterday following an undersea earthquake.

At least 304 people were killed and 430 were injured by the tidal wave that hit the Indonesian island.

About 150 people are still missing and 52,700 people have been displaced.

The majority of the deaths were in the resort area of Pangandaran in West Java province.
