An Israeli helicopter gunship fired two missiles into the Gaza Strip town of Khan Younis this morning killing two Palestinian militants.
Reports suggest the dead men belonged to Islamic Jihad.
In another attack in Shejaya, a Palestinian man was seriously wounded when a drone fired a missile into a group of armed people.
The Israeli army said the group was planning to launch rockets into Israel.
The strikes come after Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said he intends to continue the army's offensive in the Gaza Strip indefinitely, despite strong international criticism.
Mr Olmert was quoted as saying at an Israeli cabinet meeting that the offensive could last a long time.
He reiterated that he would not negotiate with the Hamas-led Palestinian government for the release of Corporal Gilad Shalit.
The 19-year-old soldier was captured by members of three factions including the armed wing of Hamas.
42 Palestinians and one Israeli soldier have been killed since Israel stepped up its incursion into the Gaza Strip last week.
