The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has described his party's latest poll result as 'acceptable enough', given the events of the last month.

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has described his party's latest poll result as 'acceptable enough', given the events of the last month.

The poll, published yesterday, showed that support for the Government was down one point.

Mr Ahern said Fianna Fáil's standing was not where he would like it to be, but the Government would be working hard in the run up to the General Election.
