Man sentenced to 8 years for abuseThursday 15 June 2006 16.41
A 38-year-old Roscommon man who repeatedly sexually assaulted another man over the course of eight years has been imprisoned for eight years at a sitting of the circuit court.
Joseph Kenny, with an address at Main Street Roscommon, was convicted of 16 sample charges of buggery and one charge of attempted buggery by Judge Anthony Kennedy.
The judge also recommended Kenny should receive long term psychotherapy while serving his sentence and should be certified as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
Kenny's victim was an unnamed male and the offences carried out against him were described in court as too horrific to be written down.
