Loyalist and nationalist groups have reached agreement on a previously contentious parade, which is due to take place in north Belfast this weekend.

Dialogue within the community over the Tour of the North Orange parade last week prompted the Parades Commission to announce it would leave decisions on the route and crowd control to the two communities.

The parade will begin on Friday.

The Ulster Unionist Party leader, Sir Reg Empey, described the development as significant.

Joe Marley of the Ardoyne Parades Dialogue Group described the development as a start.
