Laois GAA player in critical condition

A Laois GAA player remains in a critical condition in hospital after sustaining a life-threatening injury while training with his club in Ballyfin yesterday.

Jason Gilligan, 20, is a member of his county's under-21 panel which played Wexford in the championship last week. He also trains with the senior team.

He was brought to Portlaoise hospital, then to Beaumont hospital in Dublin and was later transferred back to Portlaoise last night.
