The Commission to Inquire into Child Abuse has heard that boys were routinely punished for bed-wetting at St Patrick's Industrial School in Kilkenny in the 1940s and 1950s.

Sister Una O'Neill, Superior General of the Sisters Of Charity, which ran the school, said she did not know how the punishment stopped and started, but 'it was certainly part of St Patrick's'.

The school was closed in 1966.
