Another opinion poll is showing a slump in support for the Government and an increase for the two main Opposition parties.

1,000 adults were interviewed for the The Red C poll for The Sunday Business Post between last Monday and Wednesday.

The poll finds that since the last such poll one month ago, there has been a substantial shift in support from the Government to the Opposition.

It shows support for Fine Gael and Labour ahead of the Government parties for the first time this year.

At 35%, Fianna Fáil is down three points since April, while Fine Gael gains three to 26%.

Labour is also up three, at 14%, Sinn Féin is unchanged at 8%, the Greens are down one at 6, the PDs are also down one at 3, and Independents and others at 8% are also down 1.

Combined support for Fine Gael and Labour at 40% with Fianna Fáil and the PDs at 38% indicates that a year out from the election, there is everything to play for.
