Gardaí were called to a conference in Dublin this morning after the Minister for Justice was heckled and prevented from speaking by a group of protestors.
Michael McDowell was speaking at a conference on the legal status of cohabiting and same sex couples organised by the Equality Authority and the Gay and Lesbian Equality Network.
The group shouted accusations at Mr McDowell and prevented him from speaking for ten minutes.
They accused him of making laws that would hand their children over to 'perverts'.
At one point they threw a copy of the Constitution at him.
Gardaí arrived on the scene as the men were leaving.
