Asian countries to tackle human trafficking

Six southeast Asian countries are meeting in Cambodia today to discuss ways to tackle the problems of human trafficking.

As well as Cambodia representatives from China, Thailand, Burma, Laos and Vietnam will also take part in the three-day meeting which the United Nations says will be crucial for establishing credible anti-trafficking efforts for the next decade.

It is estimated that 500,000 women and children are exploited by criminal trafficking gangs each year.
