A new opinion poll shows a big rise in support for Fianna Fáil, with the party gaining 5% since the last Sunday Business Post poll a month ago.

The poll shows the gain was at the expense of Fine Gael and Sinn Féin.

Since the last poll, there have been three party conferences and a two week Dáil recess.

There has also been the first military parade commemorating the Easter Rising in 35 years.

It is thought that may have had the biggest political impact, with support for Fianna Fáil at 38%, up five points.

Fine Gael has lost two points to 23%, Labour is unchanged at 11%, Sinn Féin is down three at 8%. The Greens are unchanged at 7%, as are the PDs at 4% and others at 9%.
