Connacht Tribune buys Galway Bay FM

The independent radio station, Galway Bay FM, has been bought by the Galway-based Connacht Tribune Newspaper Group.

The independent radio station, Galway Bay FM, has been bought by the Galway-based Connacht Tribune Newspaper Group.

The newspaper had a 27% share holding in the station. This afternoon it announced that it has now acquired 100% of the station.

It has not disclosed how much it paid for the remaining shareholding.

The Connacht Tribune was established in 1909. The paper along with its sister title, the City Tribune, are the country's largest selling regional newspapers.
