A suspected former member of the IRA has been sentenced to six years in prison in Germany.
Leonard Joseph Hardy was convicted for his role in the foiled bombing of a British army base in the country 17 years ago.
The 45-year-old had been accused of taking part in the bombing of the Quebec barracks in Osnabrueck, western Germany in June 1989.
Prosecutors had told the court that Hardy had intended to kill as many British soldiers as possible.
