Govt depts ignored Irish agreements: report

A report today has found that half of all Government departments have ignored executive decisions and agreements on the Irish language.

A report today has found that half of all Government departments have ignored executive decisions and agreements on the Irish language. 

The finding was made in the 2005 annual report by An Coimisinéir Teanga, Commissioner for the Irish Language.

It says that Irish-speaking civil servants may have been denied promotions to which they were entitled because Government decisions and agreements were not implemented.
