Autism pre-school to get extra resources

watch

A Co Wicklow pre-school for children with autism has received word that the Government will provide it with additional resources.

The news came as parents of pupils at St Catherine's Pre-School in Barnacoyle protested outside the Dáil over the school's possible closure.

The school has received word from the National Council for Special Education that a third pre-school class for children with autism was being sanctioned with immediate effect.

This news should ensure an education future for the 16 existing pupils, plus another five who are awaiting placement.
