The US State Department has dismissed as hearsay a leaked copy of a UN report into conditions at the Guantanamo Bay detention centre in Cuba.
The report, to be published this week, accuses the United States of breaking international law and torturing inmates.
But a State Department spokesman said it was not based on facts, as the UN team had turned down an offer from Washington to visit the camp.
