Uncertainty remains about future tolling on the M50, after the Taoiseach told the Dáil that no decision had been taken on the locations for new tolls on the route.
The Labour Leader, Pat Rabbitte, said this was in direct conflict with what Transport Minister Martin Cullen said last Friday, following news that toll barriers are to be lifted on the West Link in two years' time.
Bertie Ahern said that all tolling could not be eliminated on the M50. He said that the locations of the new toll will only be decided when the National Roads Authority completes a traffic plan in the Autumn.
