Insulin inhaler approved for use in US

An insulin inhaler - the first of its kind - has been approved to be used in the US.

An insulin inhaler - the first of its kind - has been approved to be used in the US.

The development could free millions of diabetes patients from having to give themselves frequent injections.

It is hoped 'Exhubera' will give patients better control over their blood sugar levels.

It is not known when the drug will be available here.

The Chairperson of the Diabetes Federation of Ireland, Dr Tony O'Sullivan, said the inhaler will be a big bonus for most diabetics.
