Gunmen have killed ten Iraqi guards and kidnapped at least one Malawian engineer in an attack on a convoy in Baghdad.
According to reports, the guards had been protecting the engineer employed by Iraqna, and had been travelling in three or four cars.
Iraqna, which is part of the Egyptian-owned Orascom Telecom, confirmed the attack but said its information was that two of its engineers were missing, and six guards had been killed and two seriously wounded.
There have been a series of attacks on Iraqna employees in the past. The spokesperson said eight had been kidnapped previously, six Iraqis and two Egyptian engineers.
