Doctors treating Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon say medical tests carried out today show activity in both sides of his brain.

However, they say there are no signs of him emerging from a coma.

Mr Sharon has been in a coma since suffering a massive stroke ten days ago.

A hospital spokesman said he remained in a 'serious but stable' condition.
