A number of Iraqi prisoners have been killed while attempting to break out of a prison in Baghdad.
A number of Iraqi prisoners have been killed while attempting to break out of a prison in Baghdad.
One official said that a prison guard and at least eight had been killed at the prison in the capital's northern district of Kadhimiya.
Police said the incident began when an inmate grabbed a rifle from a guard and opened fire on other guards and prisoners.
The US military authorities said that the incident is under investigation.
