Investigators in Iraq are trying to identify dozens of bodies found in a mass grave in the Shi'ite holy city of Karbala.

They believe the bodies were buried in 1991 when government forces killed tens of thousands of people in response to a Shi'ite uprising against Saddam Hussein.

The grave was discovered by workmen laying a new water pipe in a park in the centre of Karbala.
