The State Pathologist for Northern Ireland has agreed that the arm lock in which Robert Holohan was held around the neck and the finger pressure applied to his neck were dangerous manoeuvres.

However, Professor Jack Crane claimed the evidence suggested that the force applied by Wayne O'Donoghue was not particularly severe or prolonged.

Professor Crane appeared today as a defence witness at the murder trial at the Central Criminal Court sitting in Cork.

Wayne O'Donoghue denies murder but admits the manslaughter of 11-year-old Robert Holohan.

Robert's body was found in on Inch Strand in east Cork last January.
