The late Liam Lawlor allegedly received more than £189,000 from backers of the Liffey Valley Shopping Centre in Dublin.

The Mahon Tribunal heard today that Cork developer Owen O'Callaghan and lobbyist Frank Dunlop say the money was paid for the shopping centre development and a proposed national stadium.

The Tribunal has heard that before his death Mr Lawlor admitted receiving a total of £85,000 from companies controlled by the two men.

The details emerged during the opening of the Quarryvale Two Module today, which is expected to hear that a total of 15 county councillors received bribes concerning the rezoning of the Quarryvale site in 1991.
