Race link to 40% of complaints, says authority

The Minister for Justice, Michael McDowell, has said how we deal with immigration issues today will determine whether or not there are scenes in Ireland in the future like those currently in Paris.

The Minister for Justice, Michael McDowell, has said how we deal with immigration issues today will determine whether or not there are scenes in Ireland in the future like those currently in Paris.

He was speaking at the launch of Anti-Racism in the Workplace Week.

He said it was important that there are standards in dealing with immigration issues.

The Equality Authority has said that so far this year the largest number of complaints about the workplace, 40% were race related.
