Iran has allowed United Nations nuclear inspectors into its Parchin military complex, which had previously been off-limits to the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Western diplomats have described the development as positive.

However, Tehran also says it will process a new batch of uranium despite threats to refer it to the UN Security Council if it goes ahead.

The US and the EU are continuing to apply pressure for Iran to halt all sensitive nuclear activities.
