A defence lawyer for one of Saddam Hussein's co-defendants who was kidnapped in Baghdad has been found shot dead.
Police said the body of Saadoun Janabi, who was acting as defence lawyer for former judge Awad al-Bander, was found with several gunshot wounds to the head and chest.
Mr Janabi was abducted yesterday evening.
Reports say that eight gunmen arrived in two cars and forced Janabi from his upper-storey office at gunpoint.
It comes just days after the opening of Saddam Hussein's trial for crimes against humanity.
