The Sinn Féin President has called on the Irish and British governments to move speedily to fulfilling their commitments and to inject renewed momentum into the Northern Ireland political process.

At a news conference in Belfast, Gerry Adams said that in his view, the DUP accepted what had happened in terms of the IRA putting arms beyond use.

He said the DUP supported the Decommissioning Body and also acknowledged the integrity of the two Church witnesses and said it accepted their reports.

Mr Adams said the goal of the two governments should be the re-establishment of the Northern Executive as quickly as possible.
