A new nationwide consumer survey has shown a majority of Irish people believe we are less healthy than we were 20 years ago, but we lack the time and motivation to adopt healthier lifestyles.

At least 47% of respondents to the survey identified physical exercise as the number one thing they should be doing to improve overall health.

Almost half said a lack of time and motivation were factors for not exercising.

The Nutrition & Health Foundation, which commissioned the survey, has developed a Workplace Wellbeing Programme for companies to provide structured nutrition, exercise and sports initiatives.
