Suspected IRA member arrested in Spain

A suspected IRA member wanted in Germany for attempted murder and a bomb attack, has been arrested in Spain.

A suspected IRA member wanted in Germany for attempted murder and a bomb attack, has been arrested in Spain.

Leonard Joseph Hardy, 44, was sought by German police over his suspected involvement in a bomb attack against British Army buildings in Osnabruck-Eversburg on 16 August, 1989.

He was also sought for his suspected involvement in the attempted murder of a British Army employee.

Spanish police arrested him at a hotel in the southern city of Torremolinos.

The British authorities have described him as very dangerous.
