Residents living near Dublin's €300m wastewater treatment plant complained of further foul odours emanating from the plant last night.

The affected areas included Sandymount and Irishtown on the south side of the city and Fairview, East and North Wall on the north side.

Dublin City Council recently engaged a team of American experts to assist in trying to eliminate the long running problem.

One campaigner has said he is to take High Court action against the council due to the continuing bad odours in the area.
