Torrential monsoon rains have returned to the Indian city of Mumbai as it tries to recover from flooding that has left nearly 900 people dead.

Torrential monsoon rains have returned to the Indian city of Mumbai as it tries to recover from flooding that has left nearly 900 people dead.

Police urged people to stay at home and meteorologists have warned the downpours will continue, hampering relief work.

Much of the transport system has again ground to a halt and thousands have protested on the streets at what they say is government inaction.
