Around 15 patients who remain at the Leas Cross Nursing Home in north Dublin are expected to leave over the weekend, with the home due to close next Monday.
The Health Service Executive said it would offer support to the remaining residents in their move and that nurse liaison officers would be available during August for the patients taking up places in new nursing homes.
Last month, the HSE decided to withdraw all public patients placed in the home because it claimed Leas Cross was in breach of regulations.
The executive also confirmed it had recently received a new independent report on the health service inspection process at Leas Cross.
