The leader of the Labour Party has said the dispute surrounding the five landowners jailed for their opposition to the onshore gas pipeline in Co Mayo could be resolved by Shell going to court to have the injunction lifted.
The five Mayo men have spent a month in prison for refusing to purge their contempt of a High Court order.
Speaking to RTÉ News, Pat Rabbitte said the company could waive the injunction following yesterday's statement by Noel Dempsey that Shell may have breached the terms of permissions given for developing the pipeline.
