The leaders of the G8 countries have agreed measures to tackle global warming.
German negotiator Bernd Pfaffenbach said they had agreed to try to reduce greenhouse gases by promoting cleaner technology and energy efficiency.
He said there was also reference in their text to the Kyoto Protocol, which the US has not signed.
Mr Pfaffenbach added that no specific targets were mentioned in the text.
G8 leaders denounce London attacks
Earlier, the G8 leaders denounced the terrorist attack on London, branding it an assault on civilisation that would not derail their summit.
British Prime Minister Tony Blair, standing in front of his G8 counterparts and the heads of five emerging nations from Latin America, Africa and Asia, declared: 'This is not an attack on one nation, but on all nations and on civilised people everywhere.'
Mr Blair left the summit shortly after noon to travel to London, but said he would return to Gleneagles in Scotland later in the day.
Police lower Edinburgh alert
Police in Edinburgh have confirmed that two controlled explosions were carried out on Princes Street in the centre of the city.
The second package was deemed safe. Police called it false alarm with good intent.
The cordon that was imposed has been lifted and all pedestrian and vehicle traffic is back to normal.
Police cordon at campsite
Police in Stirling have put a cordon around a camp housing thousands of protestors in an effort to avoid the violent scenes seen in the town yesterday. Movement in and out is restricted.
