A 14-year-old boy has died in a crash involving a stolen car in Cork city.
A second teenager received serious injuries in the crash, while a third received minor injuries.
All three are from the Mahon area of Cork city. They were in a car which went out of control and crashed on Monaghan Road, close to the city centre, at around 12.30am this morning.
The car, a Honda Civic, had been stolen a short time earlier at Ballintemple. It hit a barrier and a number of trees after it went out of control.
Gardaí were alerted after the car had crashed. An investigation is underway and the scene was technically examined.
Gardaí at Blackrock in Cork city are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
