The Basque separatist group, ETA, has said it will no longer attack Spanish politicians.
In a statement to a Basque newspaper, the group said the decision was motivated by changes in the political climate.
However, the move has been criticised by the Spanish Government for not going far enough.
It has offered to negotiate with ETA if it lays down its weapons.
However, the group said it was ready to talk but not to disarm.
