150 attend anti-racism rally in Dublin

Around 150 people attended a demonstration against racism in Dublin's city centre this afternoon.

Around 150 people attended a demonstration against racism in Dublin's city centre this afternoon.

The protest - organised by the group Residents Against Racism - ended with a rally outside the Department of Justice.

Speakers included the Socialist Party TD Joe Higgins, Labour's Michael D Higgins, and Mick O'Reilly of the ATGWU.

The rally heard calls for asylum seekers who have been living in Ireland for a number of years to be granted an amnesty and allowed to remain in the country.
