Two youths injured in North attack

Two teenagers were assaulted last night by a gang of up to 12 people outside a cinema at Ballymena in Co Antrim.

Two teenagers were assaulted last night by a gang of up to 12 people outside a cinema at Ballymena in Co Antrim.

The boys, aged 14 and 15, were attacked on the Larne Link Road at around 11.00pm.

Police say two youths have been arrested.

In a separate incident in west Belfast, a teenager received a stab wound to the thigh.

The PSNI said the 16-year-old youth was attacked on the Andersonstown Road near the White Fort Inn around 11.00pm.

He was taken to hospital where he underwent surgery.

A second youth with him is believed to have been stabbed in the neck but left the scene before police arrived.
