The family of the murdered Belfast man, Robert McCartney, are reported to have received another threat.

The family said that police confirmed the threat came from republican sectors.

It is understood the threat implies that republican elements are going to take action against the McCartney family if they continue to discredit the republican movement.

Sinn Féin has denied that any republicans were involved in the threat.

Robert McCartney was killed outside a Belfast pub on 30 January. No one has been charged with his killing.
