Three people have died after a road accident during the night on the North Circular Road in Dublin.
Christopher McGowan and Helen Power, both aged 30, of Parkgate Place, Parkgate Street, Dublin, and Thomas Shortall, aged 42, of Shurock, Moate, Co Westmeath, died in the crash, which happened at about 3.20am this morning.
Two of them were pronounced dead at the scene, while the third was pronounced dead on arrival at the Mater Hospital.
A fourth person who was in the car is in a serious condition in the Mater Hospital.
They were travelling in a Volkswagen Golf when it went out of control and crashed into a parked lorry between Hanlon's Corner and Aughrim St, where the North Circular Road meets Prussia Street.
The North Circular Road was closed for several hours following the accident, but has now fully reopened.
