Greece approves EU Constitution

Greece has today become the sixth European Union member to approve the EU Constitution after its parliament overwhelmingly endorsed it.

Both the ruling conservatives and the opposition socialists backed the treaty.

It was ratified with 268 votes in favour and 17 against; 15 deputies abstained.
