The State Pathologist, Dr Marie Cassidy, has carried out post mortem examinations on the bodies of a woman and two of her children who were found dead at the River Slaney in Wexford yesterday morning.

The three bodies were discovered by fishermen at an area known as Kaat's Strand, not far from Wexford Bridge.

Dr Cassidy began her examinations at around 11.15am this morning and was not expected to conclude until this evening.

Gardaí investigating the deaths of Sharon Grace and her daughters, four-year-old Mikayla and three-year-old Abe, from Barntown in Co Wexford, say they were reported missing by a family member at around 2am yesterday morning.

They are appealing to anyone who may have seen the 26-year-old mother and her children on Saturday evening or Sunday morning to contact them.

Gardaí say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.
