Three in four Childline calls not answeredWednesday 06 April 2005 18.02
New figures show that three out of four calls to the Childline phone service are still not being answered.
The revelation has prompted the ISPCC to introduce a new mobile phone text facility for callers.
The new initiative will provide an immediate automatic response for callers on a number of topics.
According to new figures compiled by the ISPCC, three in four of the 730,000 calls made last year were not answered due to a shortage of staff.
