RTÉ News understands that the Filipina worker who was at the centre of a low wage row with Irish Ferries will be getting a compensation package worth around €25,000.
The deal in the case of Salvacion Orge was negotiated between company management and the trade union SIPTU at a two-hour meeting earlier today.
The meeting took place on board the Isle of Inishmore ferry, where Ms Orge was being paid €1 an hour to work in the hair salon.
Crew on board the ferry also made a collection for her totalling around €1,000.
She had remained on the vessel since her contract was cancelled by the company last Wednesday following queries from RTÉ about her wages and working conditions.
Ms Orge arrived back in Rosslare from Pembroke this evening.
She will fly from Dublin to the Philippines tomorrow to be reunited with her three teenage children.
