French poll shows 51% against EU Constitution

An opinion poll in France has indicated for the first time that a majority would vote against ratification of the proposed EU Constitution.

An opinion poll in France has indicated for the first time that a majority would vote against ratification of the proposed EU Constitution.

The poll in Le Parisien newspaper showed that 51% of French voters would vote no in the referendum, due to be held in May. 

A number of other countries, including Ireland, also plan to hold referendums.
