McCartney family says 'mixed messages' from SFSunday 13 March 2005 22.27
The family of Robert McCartney have said they are getting mixed messages from Sinn Féin regarding their efforts to help with the McCartney murder investigation in Belfast.
Catherine McCartney said the party had been presented with an opportunity to set an example when it emerged one of their former assembly candidates Cora Groogan had been in Maginnis' bar on the night of the murder.
Ms Groogan has confirmed she was in the bar between 10pm and 11pm on the night in question during which time there was what she terms 'a commotion'.
Catherine McCartney says Miss Groogan's failure to go directly to the police means the family are getting mixed messages from Sinn Féin
