Child sex offender remanded in custody

A child sex offender who went missing hours before he was convicted of sexually assaulting seven boys has been remanded in custody to appear before Cork Circuit Criminal court next month.

A child sex offender who went missing hours before he was convicted of sexually assaulting seven boys has been remanded in custody.

36-year-old James Lombard appeared before the Circuit Court in Youghal today, having been arrested yesterday afternoon in Carrigaline.

Judge Sean Ó Donnabháin remanded him in custody to appear before Cork Circuit Criminal Court on 18 April.

The judge also sought victim impact statements as well as probation and psychiatric reports on Lombard.
