Gardaí in Cork are looking for a convicted sex offender who has gone missing.

James Lombard, who is originally from Cork, sexually assaulted young boys in the toilets of fast food restaurants and swimming pools in the city. The offences took place in the early 1990s.

He was extradited from England last June to face charges arising from the attacks.

Lombard, 36, went missing on the last day of his trial in Cork on 7 February. An order restricting the release of information about him has now been lifted.

Gardaí believe he is still in Ireland. They are asking the public for any information as to where he is now.

He is described as being 5'8'' tall, of stocky build with brown hair. He is said to speak with a hint of a Cockney accent.
